The triskelion

THE TRISKELION

The word triskelion comes from the Greek meaning "three legs". Although a Celtic origin is commonly lent to this symbol, it is actually only partially correct. While it is true that people used it frequently during the second Iron Age, the triskelion has been used since Neolithic period, like on the tomb of Newgrange, dated about 3200 BC. The symbol is engraved in several places and used more than 2500 years earlier than the Celts were present in Ireland.

So, for my upcoming 60th, I had this installed. Incorporated my wife's initials as she was an important part of the mind, body, spirit trinity.
